"The BabyBjorn Smart Potty is absolutely fantastic and could not have arrived at a better time for us as we have just started potty training with our 2 year old daughter. Using this particular potty has made potty training a fun journey!
We always knew potty training was going to be a hard task but we are very fortunate to currently have laminate floors! When we started potty training I purchased an inexpensive potty and found that it slid all over our floor and was very easy to knock over. With the BabyBjorn Smart Potty we did not find this a problem at all as the potty is very sturdy and has a rubber grip on the bottom of the rim to ensure that it does not slide and is certainly a lot harder to knock over.
One of the greatest aspects of the Smart Potty is the separate insert which can easily be lifted out of the main potty base and the contents flushed away. This is a great feature which minimises the risk of spilling any contents whilst in transit! Hygienically it is very easy to keep clean which is a huge plus factor!
The potty looks very comfortable to sit on as it has a high back and is made from a thick, sturdy plastic. The insert also has a higher lip at the front (from my experience I think that boys would possibly benefit from this more) to stop any leakages whilst in use.
My daughter was very curious about the Smart Potty when it arrived, especially as it is in two sections. She has enjoyed using the potty from the start of the trial and as it is very durable it has stood up to being moved and dropped whilst she has adapted to using it. We trialled a lovely pink and white potty though there are other colours available too. The design of the potty is the basic shape which everyone expects and includes the teddy bear BabyBjorn logo on the front.
The Smart Potty is priced at £17.99 and though I do feel this is more than I would like to pay for a potty, it has been fun and very easy to use, is durable and sturdy and my daughter has been comfortable whilst using it. I do think the potty has a long life and could easily be used again for younger siblings and for that reason it could prove good value for money."
"We instantly liked the BabyBjorn Smart Potty as it is very easy to clean due to the 2 separate sections of the potty and the ability to lift the main part out to empty and clean. The potty is more heavy duty than a lot of the cheaper potties available and when in use or when being knocked around I found that the potty was not easily tipped over. This is very reassuring considering how cheeky little boys can be!
We were in the middle of potty training my son when we were asked to trial the BabyBjorn Smart Potty – at first I was a little worried in case changing the potty that was familiar set him back a stage in his training however I didn’t need to worry at all. He honestly took to using the new potty like a duck to water! Upon inspection the BabyBjorn Smart Potty has a higher back in order to keep a child sat with good posture and in the right position. The removable section has a high edge to it to ensure no spills or leaks when in use and also when carrying.
The Smart Potty was slightly larger than average but still small enough to keep in any room of the house without it being a nuisance or in the way. I do think the softer edges and the fact it is slightly larger than normal potties made it more comfortable for my son to use and as mentioned he had no problem adapting to a new potty.
I was very impressed with the rubber section on the underneath of the potty which enables the Smart Potty to have some grip on the floor and makes it more difficult to knock or tip over. Therefore less spillage!!
Although the overall shape is no different to other potties there is certainly something that makes the BabyBjorn Smart Potty stand out above all others. The price tag is quite hefty, however the quality of this product is outstanding and I would not have any reservations about purchasing this potty in future or recommending it to friends!"
