SFR was very lucky to review “I Took The Moon For A Walk” by Carolyn Curtis and Alison Jay.
The story flowed wonderfully and you actually felt you were there with the little boy taking the moon for a walk. It was an absolute joy to read and Olivia thoroughly enjoyed listening whilst she looked at the pictures and pointed to the moon. The story has one line per page alongside 3/4 page sized amazing, antique looking illustrations. The delightful words flowed easily off the tongue and I found myself enjoying the book just as much as Olivia.
I can already imagine us cuddled up on a winter’s night reading this book before bedtime and then having a quick peak at the moon before Olivia goes to bed.
I was impressed to find a whole page at the back of the book dedicated to explaining the different phases of the moon and a whole page dedicated to animals that you may see and hear at night. The animals mentioned also feature throughout the story enabling both parent and child to point to them whilst reading the story.
This is a wonderful, educational book that would fit perfectly into any bookcase!
We have a house full of books as I have always enjoyed reading and felt it important to read to Olivia from an early age. Barefoot Books are very appealing and make a wonderful addition to your own bookcase or a wonderful present for a very lucky recipient.
