For the past couple of weeks Olivia has been zooming around on her new Scuttlebug Trike by Mookie Toys and absolutely loves it! The very cute black and yellow trike that resembles is bee came in a super easy to carry box with a handle and is one item I could not recommend highly enough for its portability.

When taking the trike out of the box I was expecting to be greeted with allen keys and screws but instead I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was the trike was intact and it was a simple case of pulling the trike legs out and securing them with an audible click. The legs easily click back into place by pulling the sliding connectors back and pushing the legs back into the seat. This makes the trike almost flat and so easy to either carry around with you or pack away in the car.

I was a little unsure of how Liv would take to the Scuttlebug trike as for a 2 and half year old she is on the tall side but I found that we had probably trialled this bike at just the right time.

Liv finds it very easy to jump on and off the trike and the seat is rather generous in size which I believe adds to the stability of the trike. I never felt worried at anytime about Liv's safety on the bike and was quite happy for her to scoot around to her heart's content. It is very durable and solid which for parents with younger children considering purchasing this trike is a definite reassurance.

What I really liked about the trike was that Liv could easily steer with the use of the handlebars, the front wheel would follow which direction she chose to move in. We did have another wheeled product when Liv was younger that did not move and this frustrated Liv as she would have to keep moving the product herself. So for us the Scuttlebug certainly ticks all the boxes for a product like this. So much thought has gone into developing a wheeled product that will really appeal to children and adults. Very easy to assemble and transport and the colours and faces of each Scuttlebug appeal to children. The seats are even patterned and bump to represent an insect.

The Scuttlebug is aimed at children ages between 1-3 years, I would strongly recommend for children nearer the 1 years of age mark. It is a great way for younger children to understand and develop their own stability and also gives them that little bit of independence. A really fun trike that is a huge hit in our house and the talk of our close!
